I think i am going to start my own fan club for Michael O’Leary, CEO of this much hated airline, I think he is hilarious and sometimes says things without thinking (anyone can throw the first stone there!) When he does say something controversial he gets headline news and front page coverage in all the national newspapers and media , for nothing ! clever man.
Born to an Irish family in the sixties he carried on to finish his education at Trinity College in Dublin, one of the finest establishments in the world, so I think we can safely assume he is no idiot.
I think back to when my parents came to England in the fifties, hard to believe some of the hatred they had to live with, and many younger people of today would be shocked that it was even experienced here in the UK. These type of signs were commonly seen , and I have this on the best of authority, my own parents !
So i for one am a fan, yes its cheap and he uses the airports in some of the most obscure places, but if you want all the frills do not book a low cost airline, read the conditions and print off your boarding pass (recent article regarding a family who had to pay €300 to do this). For an airline who last year flew over 81 million people, more than BA and Easijet, hes doing OK.
