Azamara Quest , a small trip !

Weighing in at just over 30 000 tonnes I still get surprised at the size, even though she is small, only holding 680 passengers, it still looks impressive when docked.

We were lucky enough to have two nights on board sailing out of Southampton to Amsterdam , then flying home, this just gives us an impression of what to expect on board , and hopefully help us to help any guests looking to travel in future. The ship was actually at full capacity , but you would never have known, everything runs very smoothly and there are more than enough public areas to accommodate everyone, it would have been nice to have the sun , but then we cannot have everything !

We were lucky enough to get the bridge tour (not always possible), it was a bit foggy, there is a crew member whose sole job is to stand and look out of the windows, just in case there is something ion the water too small for the radar to pick up on , floating debris  or anything that could cause any damage, not sure its the job for me, but impressed someone was doing it !

Hard Work ! These loungers are all  over the ship , and while I did not count them one by one , I am convinced there were more loungers than passengers, and really comfortable, proper mattresses with towels and blankets. Very civilized.

The main entrance on the left, again surprisingly large for a small ship, very elegant, and on the right the terrace restaurant on deck nine aft, enough seating as it goes around the back of the ship and runs both sides, just outside is the Patio lunch bar , the nicest burgers and light meals, perfect !

All gratuities are included in Azamara and many of the drinks, normal G&T , Vodka, wine , Cocktails, just one spirit missing, Brandy ? It is on board but not in the All inclusive package, as it it my drink of choice I did notice this . The cost was $5.95 plus tax for a single.

The mini bar was well stocked and remember all of the water and soft drinks are complimentary, another bonus, for the usual question , there are no tea and coffee making facilities in the cabin , you can get on deck self service from 0630 am in the morning, if you are awake at that time as the beds were very comfortable, so not an option for me !

A very enjoyable two nights on board, our hosts were fabulous, and the guests tolerant of our intrusion , always happy to chat to us of their experiences , which we love hearing . so thanks Azamara for a great opportunity.
