Cunard’s Royal Wedding

Cunard are joining the Royal Wedding celebrations on board their ships, queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth. the wedding is scheduled for May 19th, when Prince Harry will marry Meghan Markle. The Queen Mary 2 will be in the middle of a transatlantic sailing, the Queen Victoria will be in Scotland and the queen Elizabeth in Russia on this big day.

Several celebrations will be offered, allowing passengers to toast the couple:

• Screening of the Royal Wedding
• Royal Wedding afternoon tea with specially created cakes including the Union Jack Butterfly, Chocolate Crown, Victoria Wedding Cake along with traditional finger sandwiches, scones, clotted cream and jams
• Celebration cocktails including the Princess Bride, The King’s Steed, American Beauty, Midnight Over the Atlantic and P.S. I Love You
• Commemorative dinner and keepsake menu in the main dining rooms
• Celebration cake — modelled after the bride and groom’s — made of lemon and elderflower to be served in each of the restaurants
• Champagne at dinner .
• Cunard has strong ties to the Royal Family, naming its ships after several matriarchal figureheads. According to a press release from the line, Queen Elizabeth II attended her first Cunard event in 1938 at the age of 12 and has since launched and named four of the line’s vessels. This will be a good opportunity for cruisers to watch the wedding live and also join in celebrations and they will feel the special atmosphere on board I am sure.”We are excited to celebrate the royal wedding with our guests on board all three Cunard ships,” said Josh Leibowitz, senior vice president, Cunard North America. “We are thrilled to honor this special moment in time, and to commemorate Cunard’s longstanding special relationship with the Royal Family,” he added.  I wonder where are the newlywed couple will be going on their honeymoon, would it be a cruise? I doubt it but that would have been amazing if they were to go on a cruise, perhaps on Royal Princess? what do you think?
