Celebrity Cruises

I do love the Celebrity brand as I think they got it right, the 5 star standards, the superb dining and the attention to details, they are one of my favourite cruise lines. Celebrity Cruises has announced a fleetwide modernization of all cabins and suites, a new sundeck and a revamped lounge, as well as a new café on four of its ships. As part of the $400 million ‘Celebrity Revolution’, which started with Celebrity Edge, the renovations are expected to begin in 2019. I can’t wait for that as I am booked on the Celebrity Edge in 2019 but the renovation will be fleet wide so all ships will be renovated.

Major changes include the installation of 11,579 cashmere mattresses and a reconfigured layout to “optimize storage and efficiency”, according to a company infographic unveiling the renovations today.

Passengers in suites will have access to a new, resort-style Retreat Sundeck with day beds, cabanas and a pool, and a revamped Retreat Lounge, serving complimentary drinks, snacks and live entertainment.

Oceanview Café, “an international marketplace with globally influenced menus”, is also set to be introduced exclusively on Celebrity Constellation, Celebrity Infinity, Celebrity Millennium and Celebrity Summit. I think that will give Celebrity a boost against the other rivals such as Holland America and Cunard.Celebrity Cruises has always been recognized as an innovative, trend-setting brand, and the Celebrity Revolution is just another instance in which we keep raising the bar in modern luxury travel. Between 2019 and 2023, Celebrity will redesign and reconfigure all staterooms on its nine ships.Over 11,500 cashmere-covered mattresses and bed sets will be installed. Storage in cabins will be reconfigured along the lines of Celebrity Edge to maximize efficiency, Celebrity said. I know some of the older ships will need it, like the Millennium for example but we will wait and see in a few more years.
