Another cruise line is sailing to Cuba

Oceania cruises, part of the NCLH (Norwegian Cruise Lines Holdings have announced they will sail to Cuba and are just waiting for the final Cuban government approval to start making calls to Havana and other Cuban ports. The Oceania Regatta will start sailing as early as this year to Cuba as part of a Caribbean itinerary. Also the Oceania Marina may start sailing to Cuba early next year. A few other cruises have already started to sail to Cuba including Carnival, MSC and Norwegian Cruise Lines will do next year, although not released yet. I think that will be great news to the cruise line industry as Cuba , with it’s rich heritage can add so much more to the Caribbean itineraries as with a lot of them it’s all about sun and beaches but with Cuba it’s a lot more than that. Cuba is known for its cultural diversity, built from Spanish, African, French and Asian influences. Whether in literature or fine art, film, ballet, modern dance or theatre – the island has produced numerous famous artists in many different disciplines. For a very long time Cuba was a mystery to the rest of the Western world and especially to the Americans since they banned travel there in 1962 now since the relations are getting warmer , the ban was lifted and a lot more travel companies including the cruise industry have found Cuba as the new destination to explore. I think we need to hurry up and go now as in a few years it will become much more commercial than it is now and also more expensive and full of tourists, so I think the time is right now. It’s also a very big Island that you may need time to explore so maybe a tour plus a cruise won’t be a bad idea, watch this space!Cuba2
