Sky Dive in the Sunshine state

It’s almost time for my annual Florida fix. I do like to try and squeeze in a trip to Florida every year. If I can of course. This time I’m doing something a little more than just the parks.
I’ve signed up to do a sky dive. Moment of madness, impulsive booking, whatever but I’m going through with it. Tandem dive of course with a fully qualified instructor. I’m doing this jump at the highest altitude for a Tandem jump possible which is at 18000ft.

We all have things on our Bucket list and this is one of mine. I want to feel that adrenaline rush when I’m pushed from the plane. My girlfriend thinks I’m insane and that it’s just not natural to jump out of plane. Regardless of having a parachute. She could have a point.

What a rush this will be. On a nice clear sunny day in Orlando, I’ll be high above the Space Centre and the Earth below me looking tiny. Maybe on the flight over I’ll look out the window and possibly think twice. I’ll look at my T.V screen and when it shows an altitude of the plane around 18000ft I’ll nudge my girlfriend and say there you go, that’ll be the height I’ll be jumping from. At that point is where i’ll get a look to say you’re mad.

It’s not everyday you get to do something like this and to tick it off my Bucket list I got to do it. The next time I’ll be in Florida, subject to no accidents and broken limbs, will be in September where have booked our wedding. My girlfriend thinks this is just another way of me trying to get out of it.

If anyone has done a Sky Dive and at such high altitude please share with me your experience. I’d love to hear about it. My next blog in a couple of weeks time will have some photo’s and hopefully a video so do check back here and take a look.
