New York & The Falls

So, I’m off on an unexpected visit to New York City and Niagara Falls. Unexpected, as in only last week I was asked if I’d mind going at short notice with a colleague and help escort a tour overseas. how could I say no?! I couldn’t so I’m going.

I’ll be assisting with my colleague a local tour guide to our customers needs. We’ve several Tailor-Made packages with escorted tours and this happens to be one of them.  Go West tours in America will be hosting this tour and it will actually be a privilege to represent our company in this way. I’ve never done anything like this before but looking forward to it greatly. Our passengers would have finished a cruise and will be having a couple of nights in New York City before an Amtrak train up to Niagara Falls. Our return flight is then home from Toronto. I’ve never been to Toronto before so another place to chalk off my list.

By the time you read this I should be making my way to the train station for the journey from new York to Canada. That alone is going to be an interesting experience and again very much looking forward to it. Once I’m back i’ll do another blog of my journey and the experience of it all.

I think I’m suited to do this. I’ve been New York on a few occasions and know it quite well. Some of our passengers will be first timers so it’ll be a pleasure to assist them and share my knowledge of the states. It’s no secret how much I love America and Canada. I’m due to fly to Orlando at the end of this month as me and my Girlfriend get married there. I’ll save details on that for another blog.

I’m going to find this experience very useful and will be reporting back to our products team as if I were a passenger on one of these tours and the journey by train of course. We all know it’s only a short flight but what an experience to rail it all the way there. Not sure it’ll be quite the same as The Rocky Mountaineer of course but all the same I really think it’s going to be a great experience.

To do a cruise, New York City and then finish at Niagara Falls is a great way to do a holiday. I’m looking forward to interacting with passengers booked on the tour for honest feedback and their highlights of the trip. I may only be joining them for a few days but I’m certainly going to be making the most of it.
