My Visit to see the MS Emily Bronte

I was luck enough to be invited to see the new MS Emily Bronte. This was only a day trip but worth it all the same. An early start to the day travelling to Birmingham to be met by Riviera representatives and then a short flight to Dusseldorf followed by an hours transfer to where the ship was.

I can see why River Cruises are very popular. Compared to an ocean Liner that are huge in size, River cruises give you a more intimate feel and are able to get into the heart of Cities. Some with excursions included too is always an added bonus and usually towns are right on your doorstep.

I was impressed with the Emily Bronte and I think any customer who sails on her will be too. Yes, I only had a ship tour, lunch on board and within a couple of hours it was time to go home. It was still worth the visit all the same.

Now, for you single travellers this is a good choice. Riviera have a policy in place that they have around 4/5 cabins on every ship that they will sell to a solo passenger in a double cabin with zero occupancy. This is great news for any solo passenger wanting to book in advance and not pay any single supplement. I’d recommend book early as you can imagine these will sell fast on all sailings. I shall be advising my solo customers of this. Learn something new every day.

This ship is thoroughly air conditioned throughout the ship and with heating controls in your cabin. A Nespresso coffee machine in every cabin. Nice little touch. A nice restaurant on the main deck serving buffet breakfast, buffet lunch and a a four course dinner. You have a lounge for drinks and cocktails. I liked the bistro area with the open kitchen and al-fresco seating with large panoramic windows. The ships has a laundry service, A spa and a gym and on top deck even a little putting green along with a small splash pool.

All the cabins were beautifully designed and spacious. You don’t need foreign adaptors as the sockets are British plugs. One less item to worry about and pack.
The cruise would be on a Full board basis with the option of purchasing a drinks package. Excursions are included. Overall i was very impressed, I admit only a short visit and we didn’t sail anywhere but I could sense customers would enjoy themselves on this ship so I recommend you try Riviera.
