Mansion before our Wedding.

I got married recently and if you read my previous blog you’ll see it was in Florida. I wanted to share some photos of the villa we stayed in. It was more of a mansion to be fair. Twelve bedrooms and 15 bathrooms it was well equipped to look after the 20 of us who stayed there.

To start the holiday off we flew business class with Virgin Atlantic.

I know 20 people in one place sounds like a lot but the size of this place was enough to provide everyone with their own space and you never felt like you were cramped or in anyone’s way. A bit like being on a large cruise ship but plenty of places to go and have your own space.  The photos don’t so it justice. You just had to see it to believe it. I’ll probably never get to stay in a place like this ever again. Well, you are only supposed to do a wedding once right? I like to think we did it in style and it was 3 years of planning and saving and putting together but I think it all came together quite nicely in the end and we couldn’t have wanted it any other way.

Of course being the travel agent, I had 30 people to look after and I must have done everything for everyone. From the flights, accommodation, car hire, attraction tickets and even their Esta’s for the visa waiver programme. I didn’t mind, was a lot of work to do but if I’m honest I just didn’t trust anyone else and I knew if I did it, it was going to be done properly. However they were all advised that once we were in Florida their travel agent was out of office and officially off duty! Family and friends can be the worst!

The mansion was beautifully decorated. The rooms were just amazing and better than hotel rooms. The kitchen had an amazing marble top table capable of seating 24 guests.

The kitchen was well equipped with virtually two of everything. Two large double ovens, two large fridge freezers, microwaves and importantly two dishwashers. You’d be surprised how quickly they fill up with a lot of beer and wine glasses. Not too many plates from what I could remember!

You could keep yourself entertained in the impressive 24 seater home cinema. Yes, you read that right, a 24 seater home cinema. Leather sofas that reclined and an enormous screen to watch Netflix or a DVD. Away from the cinema you had a pool table and ping ball as well as an X-Box and a Play station. A mini gym too but again I don’t recall anyone actually using the gym.

The outside was impressive with plenty of sun loungers, swim up pool stools and an outside summer kitchen which was nice to do a BBQ one evening. This particular pool was 60ft apparently the largest in reunion resort and with a hot tub and a slide. The pool heating was nice, the hot tube got really hot and in the evenings it was just nice to chill out under the stars. The villa overlooked the fabulous Jack Nicklaus Golf course.

Now being as we were to be the newly weds we had to have the Penthouse Suite on the 3rd Floor. This being the only room of the 12 bedrooms to have it’s own landing and private balcony. His and her walk through double shower as well as tub. Walk in wardrobe and a huge bed. Our room was awesome and the view was lovely from our private balcony. It was like having a suite on a cruise.

Of course leaving this villa to go to the wedding venue we just had to go limo style. These were nice and we had 3 in total. One for the Bride and bridesmaids and my mum and one for myself and the groomsmen and the other for the rest of the guests.

A great way to arrive. Along with my speedboat entrance before the ceremony. We had an amazing day and the venue was just perfect. Anyone considering getting married in Florida I’d certainly recommend it.  Shame I couldn’t have stayed a 3rd week and did a Caribbean cruise to top it off. Next will be the honeymoon. I hope you all enjoyed a few of our photos.
