Earning cash at sea by taking a selfie.

Selfies have become very popular and with social media like Face book and Instagram you can’t look though any news feed without seeing a selfie from someone.

I often joke to my girlfriend, who happens to like a selfie. Well, she tells me that she takes load but only the odd couple are chosen to be posted. Yeah right I think! Anyway, joking with her I once said you should get a job involving selfies you’d be good at it. Low and behold would you believe it? One has only gone and become available. Yes a job taking selfies and you get paid. You read that correctly.

Royal Caribbean have begun a search for someone to do just this. You will spend 3 weeks on 3 ships seeing amazing places around the world. Food and board naturally included and you take home a whopping £3k for your services.

I wouldn’t mind 3 weeks off and 3 oceans later, paid for taking pictures. I could do that. No, seriously I couldn’t. I’m not a selfie taker and don’t even find myself very photogenic. Although I do actually think my girlfriend would be very good at it she won’t be applying for the role as far too busy in her career in the fashion retail so at least that’s one off to contend with if you’re thinking of applying.

Royal Caribbean have 25 ships that sail the oceans, that’s 250 countries around the world to visit.  I think this is a fantastic opportunity to really get aboard and do this. The experience itself will be amazing. To apply you don’t even need to be a photographer, just need to use a selfie stick and can use the Instagram filters. Hardly Rocket Science.

If you’re a student, perhaps on a gap year this would be ideal. What a way to see the world and be rewarded for being vain. Can’t be bad. All expenses like flights and accommodation also included. Applicants need to check Royal Caribbean website for full details.

If you’re seriously interested and apply for this role, please do let me know I’d love to hear how the interviewing process goes, and of course how far you get with the application. Perhaps a future blog could be about the successful applicant at sea on their amazing adventure.
