Château Rhianfa

Now I have had some perks in my time as a travel agent. Top sellers trips, Ship visits and most recently I won some vouchers off Cunard. Red letter day vouchers for Two to enjoy a nice gourmet meal with b&b in one of various locations throughout the country.

With my wedding next year me and my girlfriend decided to take advantage of this little treat and book into the Château Rhianfa for one night. Exactly one year to day before we tie the knot.

This beautiful property is in Wales and is nicely situated in private grounds. Just beautiful. Fortunately enough that the vouchers that Cunard gave me were worth a staggering £400 so naturally I used them to book the Duchess Suite, the top Suite I might add.

We were not disappointed. The views were fantastic and it was nice to have a really sunny day for October and for Wales for that matter. No rain!

The Chateau Rhianfa is a 19th Century French style chateau and over looks the Menai strait. Those who have driven over the Menai bridge will know what i am talking about.  Living in Shropshire this was a nice scenic drive to the heart of North Wales. You can book private events here, Weddings, stags, conferences to name a few. It has a private beach. It’s actually open to the public that you can walk in and just have a drink at the bar or book into the la Dragon Rouge restaurant for a nice gourmet meal. To stay here as a guest is even better. Having looked on their website before we went the rooms looked nice so to book into the suite we know we had the nicest room available. We felt lucky this suite was available for our date. It’s not cheap by any means and if you’re not a guest here an average meal would probably cost you around £35pp upwards for something standard as  a 3 course.

If I’m honest the meal was ok and I didn’t mind paying the difference but I have certainly had better on a cruise ship. Overall a very nice place, decent location and if the weather is nice like it was for us it’s nice to sit outside and enjoy the views. Local town not to far away if you want to go for a stroll.

So thank you very much Cunard it was much appreciated and I’m chuffed I won these Red letter day vouchers. I certainly made good use of them. Next stop for me will be when I go away on my own holiday on Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the seas.
