Stacey’s Port Guides – Barcelona

I have been to Barcelona many times and it is one of my favourite places!  It is such a quick flight and I love the fact that it is a city with a beach attached, the best of both worlds.  If you wanted to visit Barcelona, I would recommend a three night stay before a seven night cruise.  Most cruise lines depart from Barcelona as it is one of the busiest cruise ports in Europe.  You can do it in a day but I would try to stay for longer.  If you do a cruise with a stop in Barcelona then here are my top three excursions –

Our night in the big smoke!

Last time I was preparing to head down to London for the 2017 Globe Travel Awards and what an amazing time I had!  We stayed at the Grosvenor Park Lane and the hotel was absolutely stunning.  It is in a great location, a huge hotel right in the centre of London.  My train was very delayed getting to London so was a bit of a rush to get to the hotel and changed.  We headed to the Ballroom when ready and headed straight for the VIP section.  We were hosted by MSC and they really treated us like superstars!  The meal was beautiful, we had some beautiful wine and it was great to catch up with old and new friends.

Travelling the Globe!

I am so excited for tomorrow as I have been invited to London for the annual Globe Travel Awards.  I have never been to an awards ceremony before so I was over the moon to receive an invite from the amazing MSC Cruises.  My plan is to pack in the morning just before travelling as we have been so busy at Cruise HQ I have had no time to organize anything.  My train is booked for 9am from Dumfries to Carlisle and then onto Euston.  I will (hopefully) arrive at around 1pm.  I then need to navigate myself to the Grosvenor House Hotel which is near Park Lane.  I would like to think I am ‘London savvy’ but this is the first time I will be travelling alone.  Once at the hotel I have time to relax for a bit while waiting for my colleague (and one of best friends in the world) to arrive at around 3pm.  I am sure we will have a bottle of wine when she arrives and then we need to be ready for 6pm.

2016 – the quickest year ever?

I can’t actually believe that we are just about to celebrate the beginning of another new year.  It feels like we have only just stepped into 2016.  Everyone says when you have children then time just disappears and this is the first year I have felt it.  I have had such an amazing time with Millie, at work and with my great family & friends.  2016 has definitely been the year of travel with a few breaks including taking Millie to Disneyland Paris for her first time.  I managed two breaks with my best friends at work Lou (Erica) & Danielle and also a trip to London with Kevin.

Stacey’s Port Guides – Stockholm

I have decided to feature one of my favourite Baltic ports today for my guide.  I really enjoyed the port when I was there.  I decided to do my own thing that day but customers have given great feedback for excursions so I have decided to look into some.  Please find my top three below –

48 Hours In… London

I have just returned from my last trip of 2016 and I am all refreshed ready for December which I can’t believe starts tomorrow!  A couple of months ago I decided to book a few days in London as I did last November because I had such a great time then.  Kevin hasn’t been before so I wanted to squeeze as much into two days as we could.

Stacey’s Port Guides – Le Havre (Paris)

This week I have decided to look ahead to my next short cruise and planning an excursion.  We are travelling on the Celebrity Eclipse next May for a few days with friends and I can’t wait.  There are a few of us travelling including Millie – she is really excited about the Sky Suite we have booked.  The one stop we have is Le Havre which is the port for Paris.  We may stay on the ship for the day but we have been researching excursions so here are my top three –

Disney has taken our hearts!

I always wondered why people went back to Disney year on year.  I have been to Disneyland a couple of times before but not having Millie.  Now I enjoyed it but this time was a million times better.  We had such an amazing time we booked for next year as soon as we came back!  I could tell you everything that we did but thought I would highlight our top three things about Disneyland Paris.

Time for Disneyland…!

After many months of planning and saving it is finally time for us to head to Disneyland Paris.  I am now out of the office for a week and I am ready for it.  It has been a busy few months at Cruise HQ and will be nice to refresh before the beginning of 2017.  We are heading to Manchester tomorrow to go to the Trafford Centre  and have a visit to the sea life centre to hopefully meet Nemo and Dory.

Sixteen sleeps until…

Well I can’t quite believe we are into October already.  This year has just FLOWN past and Millie & myself have made some amazing memories.  She has almost finished her first term in Primary 2 and has already settled in so well.  She has two more weeks until the October break and as a treat for her I have decided to take her to Disneyland Paris.  We fly out on the 18th for four days and I have planned an itinerary from start to finish.  We are going to be staying at the Newport Bay Club.  I have stayed there before and the hotel is beautiful.  I have decided this week to give you some information on some of the hotels at Disneyland Paris in case you are planning to visit at some point, starting with my favourite…
