Oasis of the Seas – Flying with Virgin
I can’t quite believe I am sitting here writing already back from my amazing Caribbean cruise! So sad to be back but we made some great memories and had a fabulous time. I am going to split my review into sections so thought I would start with the quickest first. We travelled with Virgin Airlines (my first time) as part of the Royal Caribbean package. It was a direct service from Gatwick to Orlando, a bit of a drive for us but the price was great so road trip it was!
Outbound – We had paid to book seats and went for extra leg room in economy. We paid around £30 each to pick seat numbers and also for the extra space. I was well impressed with the leg room and it was a very smooth, comfortable journey. The staff were great with Millie and she loved that she had her own TV so she could watch films and play games. We found the meals to be tasty and the drinks service was a million times better than BA who I have flown with a few times.
Inbound – We had upgraded to premium economy on the way home as I love the extra comfort. When we booked our seats (complimentary for premium passengers) online we were able to get three next to each other in the upper part of the plane. This is known as ‘the bubble’ and had come recommended by one of my friends who used to work for Virgin. It was great upstairs, a small intimate cabin with LOADS of space. The seats had a good recline on them and were more comfortable. They only had rows of 2 so there was Millie and myself then Kevin across the aisle. The aisle was huge so I think he was happy he had a flight away from us. Again meals were good, drinks good and the choice of entertainment too.
Here is a picture of Millie loving her first upgrade experience!
All in all I highly rate Virgin – they have definitely opened my eyes to good service.
Come back next time to read Millie’s third blog – this time on her first Royal Caribbean cruise 🙂
