Is lounging for you?

The countdown is well and truly on.  This time in five weeks we will be tucked up in our Gatwick Airport hotel bed for the night.  In fact we may even be up having a couple of pre-holiday wines.  We don’t fly until 1pm on the Friday so can afford to stay up a little later as check in doesn’t open until 10am.  Now one thing I hate about checking in sooooo far ahead of your flight is the time you are left hanging around the airport spending money while you wait.  Over the last few years we have found a great solution for this which I am going to tell you about…

Have you ever considered an airport lounge?  The first thing most people would think would be expensive!  Let me tell you, they are very reasonable.  The average airport lounge would cost around £25 per person and this usually gives you up to three hours entry.  They open at around 4am and usually close last thing at night – suiting most flight times.  I love ditching my suitcases and then heading straight past duty free and all the expensive bars & restaurants to get to my seat in the lounge.

This time we are using the No1 Traveller Lounge at Gatwick.  This cost us £30 each for myself & Kevin, £16 for Millie.  The lounge is just after you clear security and provides access to Premium Security lane, fully tended bar, complimentary hot and cold food, quality magazine titles and national papers, unlimited WiFi and runway views.  Not to mention rooms to freshen up in before you travel.  I have checked and they are serving a lovely Pinot Grigio and you can also get hot meals – I have my eye on the Moroccan Chicken.

Next time you book with me ask me about an airport lounge and we can get you one booked.  You won’t regret it I promise – it’s the best way to start your holiday!
