Oasis of the Seas – Our pre-cruise stay!

We flew out to Orlando a couple of days before we cruised to adjust to the time difference and make sure we were fresh for joining the ship.  I had booked this all through Royal Caribbean so this meant they organised the hotel and transfers.

Oasis of the Seas – Flying with Virgin

I can’t quite believe I am sitting here writing already back from my amazing Caribbean cruise!  So sad to be back but we made some great memories and had a fabulous time.  I am going to split my review into sections so thought I would start with the quickest first.  We travelled with Virgin Airlines (my first time) as part of the Royal Caribbean package.  It was a direct service from Gatwick to Orlando, a bit of a drive for us but the price was great so road trip it was!

Signing off…!

As you read this I will be hopefully be relaxing, sipping a wine, and looking forward to my holidays.  In reality I will probably be stressing out, packing and unpacking cases, turning off plugs, cleaning the house and making sure that all the beds are changed!  Is it me or does everyone stress as much when it comes to holiday time?

Dumfries is on the move!

Now it’s not any great secret that nothing much happens in Dumfries but the past few weeks it has been a hub of excitement.  We woke up one day to find that lots of mysterious little boxes had appeared – around 30 of them spread over the town.  Millie came home the next day to tell me that Dumfries had been chosen to take part in what is called ‘Beat The Street’.  Beat the Street is a fun, free game for the community of Dumfries to see how far we can walk, cycle and run around our area and around the world.  We were told that we had to walk and cycle for 6 weeks to win prizes for ourselves and our team.  Millie was excited to tell me that every journey we make adds to our total, our schools total and also the total for the whole community!

22 sleeps…

Sorry I am going to become ‘that’ person who feels the need to countdown to her holiday every day.  In fact I take back my apology as I do love a countdown.  We have just three weeks (and one night) until we head off on our amazing Caribbean cruise.  The weather has been very cold in Scotland the past few days so we are well in need of some sunshine!!!  Over the past week we have been going through our check list of things to do and we are done I think…

Is lounging for you?

The countdown is well and truly on.  This time in five weeks we will be tucked up in our Gatwick Airport hotel bed for the night.  In fact we may even be up having a couple of pre-holiday wines.  We don’t fly until 1pm on the Friday so can afford to stay up a little later as check in doesn’t open until 10am.  Now one thing I hate about checking in sooooo far ahead of your flight is the time you are left hanging around the airport spending money while you wait.  Over the last few years we have found a great solution for this which I am going to tell you about…

Stacey’s Port Guides – Labadee

We are off in just a few weeks on our amazing Caribbean cruise.  Now I am not one for a lot of excursions but I do want to get off in Labadee – the private island in Haiti owned by Royal Caribbean.  We have been looking at excursions and here are our three favourites.

My second blog – by Millie (aged 6 and 1/2)

Hello, it’s me Millie again.  I am now on my summer holidays from school and having a lot of fun.  I start in Primary 3 in two weeks.  Mummy is  taking me to London this weekend with Aunty Lou and Jack Jack.  I am so excited as we are going to see Aladdin and then the Athletics.  Mummy has ordered me some ear defenders in case the noise of the crowd is too loud for me.  I lost my first top tooth the other day and my second one is almost ready to come out.  This means I am a really big girl now!

Our family weekend away!

As we are off on our big holiday in October, we have decided to take a couple of little breaks in the summer to break up the 7 weeks Millie is off.  Last week we had time booked off to head down South.  Unfortunately our car broke down just as we were leaving Dumfries but we managed to hire a brand new car which has made me very sad  that I can’t keep it.

Stacey’s Port Guides – Cozumel

It’s me again with my planning of my own cruise on the Oasis of the Seas in October.  This week we are looking at the port of Cozumel in Mexico.  Here are some trips below that we have looked at.  Do you have any to add?
