Arrivederci For Now!

That’s right as my blog is being published me and my family are off on our holidays for 10 nights in total. Firstly will be staying in Genoa for a total of 3 nights and then we are booked on MSC Fantasia for the remaining 7 nights of our holiday. The great thing this time is we are flying from our local airport Manchester as for the last few years we have been flying from Scotland or Stansted due to either costing or routings. In fact I was very surprised that we have managed to book our flights with luggage for the three off us for a total of £400 in the height of the summer holidays.

Our friends will be joining us on our trip away, which will be their first time cruising, so as you can understand they are very excited. We decided to stay in Genoa as it’s a good base to visit places such as Portifino, Santa Margherita and of course Cinque Terre which means ‘Five Lands’. This comprises the five small coastal villages of Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso located in the Italian region of Liguria, they are listed on the Unesco World Heritage list. To be fair looked at staying 3 nights in Portofino and it would cost us about the same of what we are paying total for our trip. Also our cruise also departs from the port of Genoa.

Our base for the first 3 nights will be at the 4 Star Hotel Continental Genoa, which seems to be fairly central and has mainly excellent and positive views on TripAdvisor. So watch this space on my return as it may be a hotel I will recommend in the future if your are starting your cruise from Genoa. Then we will boarding MSC Fantasia for 7 nights round the Western Mediterranean, which will take in the following ports below.
