NCL? All Inclusive?

Well well Norwegian Cruise Line has announced this week they have launched the Premium All Inclusive!  This means they are now offering All-inclusive as standard, including alcoholic and soft beverages, speciality coffees in restaurants, mineral water in staterooms and service charges. Also means no more queues at the purser’s office asking to alter the gratuities on the account and not having to pay a penny more once on board. This offers an incredible value! The first thought that came to my mind was prices will have gone up! So I went to check and i was caught by surprise! Yes the prices have gone up but by a very small amount. Considering all drinks and gratuities are paid for if you had to take these charged into account the cruise is actually cheaper than it was before the announcement and is now offering a better value.

So far the All-inclusive has only ever been offered by some river cruises and 6* plus cruise lines. So many cruise lines have been offering it on special offers and it seems like this has been the best perk offered by cruise lines but it is slowly revolutionizing the industry. When you think the average daily charge is between £6 and £13 per person per day, plus another 18% of service charge per drink this soon mounts up. So i am not surprised clients are asking for it and clever cruise lines are now offering it either as standard or as part of a special offer. NCL has a good reputation in general and is a good 4* cruise line, I wonder what will happen and if the standard will remain the same or if will start to fall. I know many of you will be asking themselves the same question.

I also wonder if other cruise lines will follow and who will be next. It wouldn’t surprise me if RCI made an announcement next month
