Sail With Silvana

MSC Seaside unveiled

We have been talking a lot about the Meraviglia project in my previous blogs and I’m so pleased to see plans and rumours are materializing!!

Here are the latest details of MSC big secret. The MSC Seaside is the name of the new ship which will be 323 metres long and weigh in at 160,000 gross tonnes. At maximum capacity, she will hold 5,179 guests and 1,413 crew and be amongst the world’s largest mega ships. It was announced she will set sail in November 201

I am actually excited about this new ship and i am so pleased MSC are redeeming themselves with this new built.

The road MSC is taking is towards the international market that would appeal more to Brits.

From what I can see the new ship is going to be a mix of what we have already seen on newest cruise ships of the market leaders, allowing MSC to have a share of their clientele. She will be one of the ships with the most outdoor space and there will be an increase of balcony cabins and public area

Msc are also revolutionizing their dining experience. There will be 20 bars and 9 restaurants where guests will be offered a wide range of international cuisine with acclaimed chefs. Here are some highlights: there will be a Pan Asian restaurant in partnership with an acclaimed chef, Roy Yamaguchi, a luxury seafood restaurant with chef’s table and a world renowned steak house. The nine dining outlets include a restaurant dedicated to kids as well as a new selection of speciality restaurants and four themed restaurants including a family pizzeria.

On the MSc Seaside every element of the ship has been designed to enable her guests to enjoy the outside more with more alfresco dining, outdoor fitness facilities and even spa treatments out in the fresh air.

Other features include the world’s largest zip line on a ship which whizzes thrill seekers from the funnel to the aft over a 130 metre space. We couldn’t miss an interactive waterpark of course. This will have five multi story slides and be completely interactive with an AquaPlay area for children. The slide is 111 meters long and an Adventure Trail ropes course

Of course they couldn’t miss to own their own private island in the Bahamas, this is Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve costing more than $200 million

At 95-acres in size and with 11,400 feet of pristine beach front spread across six distinct beaches, Ocean Cay Marine Reserve will be, by a large margin, the biggest island development by any cruise company in the Caribbean. In addition, as the only marine reserve island experience, it will offer a multitude of key distinguishing features. For example, a purpose-built berth and pier right on the seafront means that MSC Cruises guests will be able to step off the ship straight onto the island. Since a unique part of their visit will be the island’s night life in particular live music and entertainment at the 2,000-seat amphitheatre and many restaurants and bars, guests moving at leisure between ship and island will be especially convenient. In addition, the ship and all on board services, including the casino, will stay open while berthed at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve.

The sense of space and outdoor areas are not finished here. There will be a glass sky walk which will let guests walk over the ocean and the rear lifts have panoramic views of the ocean allowing passengers to stay connected with the feel of the sea and the outside!

The 360 degree promenade above used for dining and sunbathing is amazing!!

It’s not at all surprising MSC was estimated to be strong on the shares market. MSC will jump from 6.8% this year to 12.9% by 2026, attributed to its aggressive new/build program.
