A lovely day out with the family in Trento

Well I am back from my Italian holiday and I paid a visit to Trento, the capital city of Trentino Alto Adige in the north of Italy nestled between the Alps. The drive to Trento was lovely and the view driving through by car was amazing, we were surrounded my mountain by their white tips all the way there. Verona to Trento is about 1 hour and there are good train connections.

We visited an Aeronautical museum of Giovan Battista Caproni, one of the most important engineers of Aeroplane’s history. This was a very interesting visit guided by a lovely lady who went through history in a pleasant way. Here we had a chance to admire and get close to original displays very well preserved all owned, piloted by important people or that had participated in very important missions.

The history was fascinating and I learned this was a man who materialized Leonardo Da Vinci’s project and theories of a plane invention into practice. He studied and developed all different kinds of flying machines in very little time creating thousands of models constantly improving their qualities and safety, shaping their looks into what we know as planes.

He became a very successful man who commissioned the manufacture of planes for World War 1 and World War 2 and ended up owning holdings all around the world which still manufacture planes.

Our children had a very good time here. There were three plane simulator which we all tried after the tour, it was fun even though I just kept crashing mine. If you fancy doing something a bit different after, there are activities that can be added to the visit by paying a small ticket fee. In a separate work room the guide gave us some instructions and a box of Lego where you could build and program your own robot. Other activities are also available if not into Lego, Robots or Building. A really good day out I would recommend to all families.
