A Relaxing Weekend That Was
So last Friday I got up very early for a 6 am flight to Tenerife, a painfully early start but made all the better by being out of the airport by 10.30 am. From there it was straight to the beach, one of my favourite beaches in the south of the island is Fanabe:
We then took the scenic route back to the north of the island, through Santiago del Teide, Garachico before finally reaching Puerto de la Cruz. There are restaurants in Tenerife and there are ‘guanchices’, a guanchiche is a kind of restaurant. It is set up by a wine producer for the purpose of selling some food along with their wines. Usually very basic but amazing value for money, we ate in Casa Juana, one of my favourites before calling it a night.
Saturday was all about more sun and lunch, this time to a place I haven’t visited before. Terrazas del Sauzal, an amazing place for both its food and views, incredible!
Monday evening was the highlight, we spent the night at the Parador in Teide National Park. The most amazing place to look at stars and the quietest place I have been since I can remember.
All in all it was a fantastic short break back to the place I once called home. Can’t wait for the next time!
