The Queen at 90!

Happy birthday to the Queen who turned 90 last week.

As the country celebrated the Queen turning 90, she lit the 1^st in a chain of more than 1000 beacons across the country and dined in style with over 30 members of the Royal family and friends of the Queen in a black tie event.

My daughter is 3 and her friends from nursery made the Queen a birthday card!

They drew some lovely pictures and the staff asked the children some questions about the Queen.

What do we think the Queen wears? Here are some answers…

She has a wand – (I am sure that’s a fairy!)

She likes going to the beach

Shopping

Her pictures are on stamps

Playing in her bedroom

Love their imaginations!

They also wrote a message hoping for a letter in return.

I wonder if she writes back to everyone. We will have to wait and see!

The Queen is one incredible lady even at 90. She has played a big part in the cruising world too.

She was present for the launch of the Queen Elizabeth in 1938, named the QE2 in 1967, christened the newest Cunard ship in 2010, the Queen Elizabeth and most recently the P&O Britannia last year.

I wonder which ship she would choose to cruise on. Queens grill on one of the Cunard ships maybe?

The Queen is not the only Royal to have been involved in cruise ship launches.

The Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton christened the Royal Princess in 2013 and the late Princess Dianna christened the Royal Princess in 1984.
