As the schools break up for summer, let’s hope the warm weather is here for the rest of the holidays!

Most of you will venture off on holiday, maybe even a cruise!

After an action packed day sightseeing round one of the great cities on your itinerary, there is nothing better than going for a dip when the sun is shining and you are feeling a little hot!

Here is my guide to the best top decks at sea..

Princess cruise – you can either relax in the Sanctuary or experience all that action of the main pool area. Have a snack at the pool side bar, slice of pizza and real lemonade on the Royal Princess! My favourite is movies under the stars! Popcorn and a good movie on the top deck is brilliant!

Oceania – the cushions on the sunbeds are luxury! They are so comfy you better be careful you don’t fall asleep! The pool area is small but you can swim and the whirlpools are just above.  The spa also has a lovely outdoor whirlpool, great if you want peace and quiet!

Royal Caribbean – all action packed, slides and water parks! So much fun to be had on a Royal ship. I recently returned from the Harmony of the seas which is amazing. The music is played all the time, it is very loud! I challenge you to escape from the noise!

Holland America – the feeling of relaxation is apparent and you can tell you are on a 5* ship. My most recent trip was on the Konninsdam. The ship is beautiful and there are plenty of places to relax and enjoy the sun. The pool bars are great and the burgers are the best!

Celebrity – one of my favourite features on the Celebrity Eclipse is the Lawn club.

You can play grass games or just sit and enjoy the view. The restaurant is great too. A little like pub food but you can enjoy it as a picnic on the grass or on the tables round the sides. The pool area is a great hub with plenty going on.

Whirlpools surround the main pool area and loungers are on higher decks too if you prefer to watch on.

Which ships do you prefer for outside activities?

Thanks for reading
