Oceania Cruises listen to feedback and announce fleetwide entertainment upgrade

I am a big fan of Oceania Cruises, the 5 star plus American style luxury cruise company. I think that they offer great value for money and sit nicely in-between regular cruise company’s and the 6 star ultra-luxury brands.

One thing that I have heard from returning passengers of mine is that the entertainment isn’t particularly good. Some of this is obviously down to the fact that Oceania sail smaller ships than most competitors and can not offer the big theatre shows on the same scale but it does seem that Oceania have listened to this feedback and at least are going to try and make improvements.

Oceania Cruises are owned by Norwegian Cruise line as they purchased their parent company in 2014, it seems that this may be helping on the entertainment front as I read that Oceania are learning from the Norwegian Cruise line entertainment team on ways to enhance the quality of their shows.

Passengers on-board Sirena will be first to experience the new shows, she makes her maiden voyage today, the 27th April 2016.

Announced shows included :-

Tuxedo – A musical take on the Rat Pack and other crooner songs by Tony Bennett, Natalie Cole and more, this show will be backed by a nine piece orchestra.

Cabaret Cinema – This show looks at music from the movies, featuring classic movie themes, pop hits and Academy Award showstoppers.

Acoustic Sessions – The live band show will feature musicians presenting pop music in an “immersive musical experience”.

On the Floor and Dance – Reminiscent of “Burn the Floor”, a popular show on Norwegian Cruise line, this show is also being rolled out to Regent Seven Seas who Norwegian Cruise line also own. This show features music from artists like Gloria Estefan and Michael Buble, brought to life by sultry choreography.

I will be interested to hear what my returning Oceania passengers have to say about this enchanced entertainment, Oceania Cruises are already very popular but any improvement is always going to help.
