What’s on the ‘Horizon’ 2

Welcome back everyone. As promised i’m now moving on to the best part. FOOD.

When it comes to the food, the offerings on board the Horizon have been considered the greatest innovation. First off we have the Guy’s Pig and Anchor Smokehouse/Brewhouse. The Guy is Guy Fieri, a tv chef who has created a burger concept specifically for Carnival and also some complimentary BBQ pit stops on a few of the previous Carnival Vessels. The Horizon is the first ship to have a proper BBQ restaurant. The restaurant is open for complimentary lunch on embarkation as well as sea days, and at dinner with a la carte pricing each evening of the cruise. The Brewhouse is a relocation of the Red Frog pub from the Vista ship into the BBQ restaurant. Carnival’s brewmaster has created 4 craft beers with the intention to complement the food.

Farenheit 555 is another area where Carnival have purposely combined venues. This speciality steakhouse restaurant now has piano music over dinner. This has been done by relocating Piano Bar 88 from the area on the Vista ship to a space directly opposite the restaurant. A wall divider is opened when dinner begins begin the Piano area and the restaurant.

Another change they have made from what they currently do on the Vista ship, is the change in the desert presentation within the steakhouse. This is now done with much more flair about it.

The Bonsai Sushi area has been expanded to now incorporate Carnival’s first attempt at Teppanyaki. This Japanese griddle restaurant will feature performing chefs who will plate the food with a little more circus-like theatricality to it.

So i think it’s safe to say that these ships do have some slight noticeable differences, maybe even some slight improvements from the Vista ship. This may have possibly come from any feedback or comments that Carnival may have received.
