Wedding is Coming

Well as many of you know already, i get married next month. I can’t believe how fast it’s come round and it’s going to be over before i know it. It doesn’t seem two minutes ago we were deciding on the venue.

From the venue picture i wonder if you can guess the Theme? That’s right we are having a theme wedding, i do like to be different. Myself and Jonathan decided that if we couldn’t get married abroad due to family members unable to travel or be able to afford to go away then we said we would marry in the UK and have a theme. We both agreed on ‘Medieval’. Of course the next part was getting the family to go along with it. Everyone has surprised us and really embraced it.

I had heard it’s bad enough organizing a wedding but we had made it ten times harder having a Medieval Theme. Many venues in the UK i were finding to be up in Scotland or way down South. However we came across this hotel over in Chorley, they had a Medieval banquet Hall and the wedding packages seemed too good to be true. I’m sure you would agree the picture i took above is spot on and looks stunning. I can’t wait to see my photographers handy work from the big day, he was more than happy to meet us up at the venue and take some shots.

It’s been fairly easy advising our guests what sort of attire to wear as we’ve asked everyone to come dressed up. Really just a case of sharing images and ideas of costumes you can hire or buy for not too much expense. We have found many of these to be on USA sites though.

We have had many ups and downs arranging our own outfits but managed to get these in the end. I can’t show you mine at the risk of Jon seeing it however i can give you an idea what we have had made for him. He has gone for a Gold brocade rather than Silver –

I must say we really have enjoyed planning most of it especially things like the invites and the favors. As Jon works for a crafting company he has been able to make our invites to what we wanted and i have made our favors for the guests. I can’t wait to show you all my cake, i chose this really early on and i’m so excited about it i’m grinning just typing this sentence. My Game of Thrones engagement cake was made by my lovely step sister.

No plans for a honeymoon yet though. We have ideas but depends what we can afford after the wedding. Trying to be cheeky and have a city break in November then have the main one in April or May next year. A tour around China we hope. Looking at places like Hong Kong, Singapore or Tokyo even for the city break, what would you recommend we welcome your suggestions.

The big day is the 30th June, i look forward to filling you all in.
