Nautical Neil's Life on the Ocean Wave

Whats goes on In Vegas stays in Vegas

After a long flight from Birmingham via Newark I landed in Las Vegas.  Taxi ride from the airport to the Mirage was about $30.

Even with jetlag I wanted to have a walk along the strip. As this was the first time I have been to Las Vegas for 15 years I could see that things had changed.

I was surprised to hear music bellowing out of the shrubbery and lamp posts outside the Venetian.  I thought it was music from a car at first! But these are the little things that make Vegas, well Vegas.  The streets were very clean and for the time of year the weather was surprisingly warm.

On a night time be sure to watch the displays outside the Mirage, an exploding volcano.  Also the famous water display outside the Bellagio Hotel.  The water display happens about every 15 mins and the volcano on the hour from 5pm.

If you like the extreme then a ride on the roller coaster in New York New York is a must.  The roller coaster actually goes through the casino!!

Oh and a little tip for you.  Buy show tickets from the discount shops which are all along the strip, you save quite a lot.
