Nautical Neil's Life on the Ocean Wave

Glastonbury at sea?

Well the season for festivals is upon us with the likes of Glastonbury this weekend and the V festival at the end of September.  I know of a few people who will be attending such events and will be pitching a tent and camping it up in all sorts of weather up and down the country.

This is a part of festival life, no matter what the weather, thousands of people will be packed into the muddy fields and bouncing and singing to the many artists who will be playing.

The likes of U2, Beyonce and The Chemical Brothers will be gracing the stages of Glastonbury this year.  This made me think, what if one of the British based cruise ships was chartered for a week or two and all the acts which perform at these festivals were to perform at sea?  There could be music in different ports of call around the Mediterranean.

It will cut out the dodgy sleeping arrangements, no weather troubles, and there will be no queues for the toilets!!  Carnival have chartered a ship this year for the band KISS which sold out in minutes so there is a market for it.

Now I know the whole part of festival life is the camping and not giving a stuff about the great British summer (rain) but I bet there are enough people out there who will like the entertainment onboard a little luxury?

14 night Med cruise on Independence of the Seas visiting about 9 ports and 30 pop artists with constant music throughout the cruise duration.

What do you think?  Would it work?
