MSC ..An exciting first for the UK…

It has been announced that MSC are to christen their new ship in the UK. The naming ceremony for the MSC Bellissima with take place in early March 2019.

The exciting new ship is looking to follow in the footsteps of the recent Mega ships that MSC have bought to our seas, MSC Seaside , MSC Seaview and MSC Meraviglia , there are  planned ,12 new ships to be completed by 2026.

MSC Bellissima  will carry approx 5,700 passengers and I have been reading up on the new ‘voice enabled cruise personal assistant’ this is a first for the cruise industry and from what I read sounds a very exciting concept. It will be a digital concierge that we can use after downloading an MSC app , we can book restaurants and excursions, the cruise assistant will reply to questions in 7 languages.

MSC are a fantastic family focused company and they present their ships elegantly to adults while providing great child facilities , on the MSC Bellissima there will be  a family deck with lots of activities for families and a tech lab for the younger technology fans !! LEGO and CHICCO are also the featured designers for the facilities of the children’s clubs.

There will be an Aqua park with a Grand Canyon Theme for all to enjoy.

The ever successful addition of Cirque du Soleil will also be featured and an array of fantastic West End Shows. The ship will feature the promenade as seen on their other new ships.

MSC Bellissima will spend her first season in the Mediterranean and then be moving on to the Emirates for the Winter Season.  I am excited to see her and after looking at the offers for some Winter Sunshine for the end of next year I may just be booking myself a little week away … (for research purposes of course!!)
