NEVER DO A 2 NIGHT CRUISE

CRUISE FOR LONGER!!- It is just not long enough!

I cruised on Celebrity Eclipse for 2 nights, just over to Le Havre and back to Southampton and was SO DISAPPOINTED that I wasn’t staying on for longer

Don’t get me wrong Eclipse was AMAZING – I loved every detail

We boarded early as we had stayed in Southampton the night before – having a 3 year old needed much planning so we tied the cruise in with a visit to Peppa Pig World (highly recommended!)

As I had booked a Suite our embarkation was swift – the best I have ever had, the sun was shining so we headed to the pool (and bar) my daughter was straight in the pool, the only problem was it took 2 hours for our cases to be delivered and for us to access our suite

We had a Sky Suite on the aft of deck 10, it was nice but not as big as I expected, what amazed me was that although the ship is 5 years old she looked brand new – everything was spotless – the carpets were pristine, no sign of any wear and tear in any of the public areas or our suite

We headed down to the show  for a glimpse and then in to Luminae the Suite restaurant, this was a real treat, the Fillet Mignon was fantastic although so was the wine price – a modest glass of house red was $15

Although the menu was 5 courses we had to cut it short, my 3 year old was getting grouchy and I didn’t think it was fair on my fellow diners diners to witness her meltdown

The next day in France the weather was dull, we mooched around the ship, had lunch in the excellent buffet, vast amounts of ice cream was consumed and then we headed to our cabin to watch James Bond while my daughter had a siesta

In the evening we hit the Ice Bar for Martinis, had a couple of cocktails in the Exclusive Michaels Bar (Suite privilege) watched the show in full and enjoyed the Dancers in the Atrium and then we met a Mermaid!

The staff were excellent on board and paid so much attention to my daughter, we all loved Eclipse – would I do another 2 night cruise 100% NOT – would I cruise on Celebrity again OH YES!! my daughter has not stopped telling everyone about going on ‘the big ship’ and can’t wait to go back…. she has definitely found her sea legs at an early age!!
