Great news for fans of Carnival Cruises, having announced last year that they will return to Europe for the 2018 summer season with a brand new ship, more details have been released.  For the inaugural season of its newest ship, Carnival Horizon, will carry out Port-Intensive European Cruises Round-Trip from Barcelona.

Fathom coming home

Remember P&O Adonia?  Do you remember where she went?

Well let me tell you.  She joined Carnival Corporations ‘voluntourism’ venture Fathom back in May 2016 and became the first US ship to visit Cuba.  She has bee taking “voluntourists” on seven-day voyages from Miami to the Dominican Republic, working on activities such as providing clean water, planting crops to help a women’s co-operative produce organic chocolate, and teaching English to the islanders.

Harmony of the Seas naming ceremony looks amazing

Royal Caribbeans newest ship, the 270,000 tonnes Harmony of the Seas was christened in Fort Lauderdale yesterday.

One of the things I love about this story is the fact that Royal Caribbean launched a contest in South Florida looking for an educator who inspires students to “dream big, think differently, and challenge the status quo” to become godmother.
