2016 was a great year what will 2017 bring
I am really looking forward to what this year will bring – At the moment there are some great offers out there and our Bucket List / Tailor Made and Smarter Packages just keep going from strength to strength.
I had such a great year last year personally with various trips.
We started the Year off with a family holiday to Orlando. We did the usual Parks – Disney and Universal with a stay at the Hard Rock hotel We also swam with Dolphins at Discovery cove and had a great day at Sea World. I have to admit I absolutely loved the experience, even though im not a fan of ‘Big Rides’.
I was then lucky enough to have a trip on board Caribbean Princess as part of Princess Cruises ‘Academy at Sea’. It was a short 3 night sailing from Edinburgh to Southampton, but we got to experience the brand and learnt lots at the seminars .
I also had a second family holiday a 7 night trip to Kemer in Turkey. It was a holiday just to laze around the pool and relax after the hectic Disney Holiday at the beginning of the year. People are unsure about Turkey and recently there have been some awful issues in Istanbul – but the Beach resorts havent been affected and our experience of the Antalya area was great and it was a well needed break.
Another work trip was a 3 night cruise on MSC Splendida with a 1 night stay pre cruise in Hamburg. We escorted a group of our cruise bloggers on on board to get their thoughts and views on the MSC Brand and the ship. It was my 2nd voyage with MSC and still a big fan. The ship is lovely with fantastic staff and excellent venues on board. Food was really good too.
Our works Christmas Conference as usual this year was on board a ship (well we are in the industry). This time around it was Fred Olsen Boudicca for 3 nights from Liverpool over to Dublin. I have never been to Dublin so was definitely looking forward to that bit (its true what they say the Guiness does taste better over there). I have a soft spot for Fred Olsen since having 2 family holidays on board Balmoral, although I have never been on Boudicca. She is much smaller than Balmoral, however she is a great little ship – traditional as you would expect with intimate venues. In terms of our conference it is always great catching up with my colleagues that I dont always see and listening to our senior managements and suppliers presentations.
My year was finished off with a trip to Manchester on New Years Eve with the family for some Ice Skating, shopping, a nice (expensive) meal and to bring in the Year with Fireworks. Manchester really did themselves proud with a simply stunning display and it finished our year off really well.
Lets make 2017 a good one
