Disney refuses to board a pregnant lady…

This week the news ran a story about Disney Cruise not allowing a pregnant lady to board Disney Magic in Miami. Whilst this was an awful experience for the family to endure not been allowed to board, and the treatment they received at the port, the terms and conditions clearly state the number of weeks you’re allowed to be when boarding.

“Disney Cruise Line told the Miami Herald: “While we understand the guests’ disappointment with not being able to board the ship, for health and safety reasons, our policy does not allow women who have reached the 24th week of pregnancy to travel, which is consistent with other cruise lines and is noted on our website and in travel documents our guests receive before sailing.”

All cruise ships have a cut off date and this is due to the medical facilities on board not having what they need for an early delivery and been able to look after a premature baby. Terms and conditions are always on the website in the brochure and fully visible for passengers to read. They are mentioned whether booking directly or even online there is a tick box to say you have read them.

The disclosure of any medical conditions  Pregnancy, mobility and even down to dietary requirements are things we will ask about when making your booking here at cruise. It is then up to the customer if things change after booking the trip to advise of any changes.

I recommend you always read the terms and conditions then advise if anything changes once you book. Also, make sure that travel insurance is in place from the day you book your cruise. Conditions are to be declared to the insurance company then you will not be left out of pocket if for some reason you need to cancel due to medical or pregnancy.

Don’t be left disappointed read those terms and conditions when asked they are important!

Thanks for reading
