Is Jane floating your boat?

Many of you will have seen now that cruise ship Entertainer/Loose Women, Jane McDonald has got herself a TV Series shown about Cruising. Its a series of 4 programmes and each week she is looking at different types of cruising and going to share her expert tips and knowledge with the viewers. If you have missed any you should be able to catch the first two shows on catch-up – Channel 5.

The first programme saw Jane board the MSC Divina and I thought from the first 5 minutes of the programme was going to be good and interesting and that even i may learn a few things, however sadly for me the show went downhill once she had shown everyone her knickers, and for me it didn’t think it showed enough of MSC or the stunning ship. Yes it showed the beautiful Swarovski Crystal staircase which is a beautiful feature,  but not really any of the other features of an MSC ship – just that she had to wait for a lift which in fairness looked like she was the only one waiting for so the film crew had probably cleared everyone off. I was also disappointed to hear Jane keep going on about when she was a crew member, and then proceed to pay to eat breakfast in a cafe rather than showing the options on board and again keep drinking Pina Colada’s in bars ashore – rather than show what good value the MSC drinks package is, and to show her drinking one of their cocktails. As not everyone will buy food and drink whilst ashore.

Last Friday she was on a small trawler converted ship sailing around the Outer Hebrides, and then this week will see her sailing on Uniworld’s S.S Maria Theresa along the Danube – which I will find interesting as I have sailed on Uniworld so am hoping she will show the off the Luxurious Uniworld brand to its full potential, and was lucky enough to sail on the Uniworld S.S Antoinette last year.  The last one in the Series will be on Holland America which again is of interest to me as she is sailing around Alaska and is what my honeymoon dream is to do.

And not forgetting the obligatory song from Jane at the end. I thought the Club Tropicana song was awful, however Amazing Grace in the cave was fantastic with the acoustics.

Have you being watching Jane and what are your thoughts? Have you picked up any useful tips yet?

Have a good couple of weeks

Kerry
