3 nights with a Royal Princess

I have just returned from a great 3 nights on board the Royal Princess where i flew from Gatwick to Edinburgh and then met my colleagues Emily, Ava and Juliette to catch the tender from the South Queensferry pier to where the Royal Princess was anchored and  where the ship was to be our home for 3 nights on the cruise back to Southampton via Le Havre. We had balcony cabins on the sailing and you can view the tour of my cabin here: https://www.facebook.com/kerryjamescruise/videos/2017205255160882/

Some of you may recall 3 years ago I was lucky to sail on the Royal Princess from Glasgow (Greenock) to Edinburgh (South Queensferry) so i was interested to see if the ship had changed over the 3 years and I was pleased to see it hadn’t, the Piazza was still glistening and very much the hub of the ship, the International cafe was still serving delicious pastries, sandwiches and salads throughout the day, the crew were all still very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, the horizon court buffet restaurant had an array of food options at lunch time from soup and salads, Asian section, Mexican, Greek, British classics and also Mediterranean favourites.

We did take out the drinks package whilst onboard and this was priced at $68.99 per person per day which i did at first think was a bit steep but overall did offer good value for money as it did include beers, wine, spirits, cocktails and Bellini’s (which was one of my favourite bars) and soft drinks and also specialty coffees.

I even got to meet Timothy from the TV programme The Cruise and he was always very happy to pose for pictures (although I think the other nationalities on board were a bit bemused as to why the British guests wanted a photo with a member of the shore excursions team) and yes he does laugh like that in real life.

Entertainment on our sector included the final of the Voice of the Ocean (which we missed due to late dinner), their own production show called Encore and also the balloon drop party held in the Piazza.

I would recommend anyone to sail on the Regal or Royal Princess.

Less than 2 weeks to my wedding now (and less than a week to the Royal wedding)

Have a great couple of weeks

Kerry

xx
