Take your own wine on board Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean have announced that passengers may now take their own wine on board their ships.
Passengers may take no more than two 750ml bottles per cabin on board and may consume it in their cabin or on the balcony free of charge. Previously they could consume this alcohol in a public area if they paid the $25 corkage fee, however the good news is that the corkage fee has now been waived!

To prevent customers from smuggling anything else on board the wine must have the original manufacturers seals intact and if any additional bottles are found by the ship’s personnel they will be confiscated until the end of the cruise.

Royal Caribbean have always been very strict regarding alcohol on board so it’s good to see that they are moving with the times. A spokesman said it recognized that “vacationers may have a particular bottle of wine or champagne that they would like bring on board to commemorate a special day or event while on their cruise.”
