Florida is about to become easier

Florida has always been a popular place to visit and offers lots of different ways to holiday. It should lend itself perfectly to a twin centre holiday. What better than a week in Orlando taking in Disney, Universal and International Drive, lots of full on excitement and big energetic sightseeing days. Follow this with a weeks Caribbean cruise, let the staff take care of you and rest those weary feet as you sip cocktails and enjoy the warm tropical skies.

However it just isn’t as easy as it sounds. Orlando and Miami are 200 miles apart and car hire in the States is not cheap especially once you’ve paid the one way charges.

From 2017 though things are getting easier. Brightline is a new express train service which will be offering safe and fully serviced trains from the east coast through to Orlando. Starting with a service from Miami to West Palm Beach mid 2017 they will then extend to Orlando and aim to offer 32 trains a day, 16 in each direction. These trains will be bright in colour, offer a full hospitality service and feature free wifi for today’s modern passenger. The journey time to between Orlando and Miami will be just 3 hours.

If your cruise departs from Fort Lauderdale you will be able disembark the train from the new station being built there, the Orlando station will be close to Orlando International Airport.

This should really open up the cruise and stay in Florida. Currently it is only really feasible to stay in Miami or Fort Lauderdale or if visiting Orlando you really have to sail from Cape Canaveral which adds sea days to your trip and less choice of cruise lines.

I can’t wait for this train service to come into place and will keep you updated with timetables and prices as I get them.
