What’s New In Entertainment

From race tracks to raucous parties, I take a look at what’s making waves on the cruise lines on-board entertainment…..

Information Immersion

The of Holland America-  ships are going to be transforming its “Crow’s Nest” Lounge areas into Explorations Central  (EXC) its a physical space filled with digital technology, books , documentaries, interactive maps, and digital storytelling on food, drinks and arts, Theres even a virtual bridge which shows all the workings of the ship in real time. It will allow clients to explore the journey in depth.

Ships – Nieuw Amsterdam, Westerdam and Zuiderdam, Eurodam and Oosterdam from April 2018.

Floating Tunes

Royal Caribbean – Music festivals cruises are increasingly gaining in popularity and perfect for the younger market and hard going party goers. Back for its second year, part cruise Anchored is billed as the first festival at sea in Europe. This party paradise features 24 hour bars and cocktail stations, top DJ’s playing well past sunset, champagne sprays and pool parties.

A Race On Board

Norwegian Cruise Line – Bliss’s karting racetrack is the latest addition to a excellent array on on board activities with NCL, which already includes skydiving, a 20.000 square foot Observation lounge and open – air laser tag. On the biggest competitive race track at sea at nearly 1,000 feet. Passengers can race around the twists and turns with four – speed settings accommodating novices, intermediate and advanced drivers, and reaching up to 30 miles per hour ( with a turbo boost) How amazing is that ( and this is on board a cruise ship) !! The cars are silent so as not to disturb the other guests on board…

Ship – Norwegian Bliss will make its debut in June 2018. The ship is a veritable playground on the sea, with hot tubs a pool and Aqua Park, free- fall slides, laser quest and a 1,000 ft track with karts that can race up to 40km an hour….. WHO SAID CRUISING WAS BORING…
