Tenerife without my terrors!

Well the time has finally come for me to have my first overseas holiday of the year and it certainly feels like it has been a long time coming. With so may terrible recent events such as the Caribbean Hurricanes, Las Vegas attacks and the Monarch Airline failure all keeping us all here at Cruise.co.uk very much on our toes I am ready for a little rest and relaxation.

I’m off to one of my favourite places on Tuesday, Tenerife so I can soak up some sun. I’ve been well let’s say several times in the past and I love it and especially at this time of the year when let’s face it the weather is not so great here. I’m booked in a really nice Hotel in Playa de las Americas with a massive pool and with loads of sunbeds but the best bit is the location with is near the Mare Nostrum complex, The designer shops of the Safari shopping centre and the famous Harry’s bar that looks down over the beautiful fountains.

I’m going with my wife and some other couples and I know we will have a real good time as we always do with plenty of laughter and more than a few beers and cocktails. So it all sounds great but I have to admit I have a few mixed feelings I am looking forward to my holiday but I feel very guilty as we are leaving our 3 kids at home. We’ve had a few family holidays this year but all in the UK and whilst the kids have loved them I’n not sure I can imagine being on a beach or in a massive pool without them. My twins are 6 now and I dare not show them a picture’s. I think my daughter who is nearly 16 now is ok with us going as she has done a couple of holidays without the family but she is probably not best pleased she will have to help out more as both Nanna’s are stepping in and on babysitting duty for the week.

My 3 kids who are staying at home!

I think I may have to buy a few of these to get back in the good books!

The other reason I have a few mixed feelings is this month more than any other I have so many customers going on tailormade holidays and when I look at where they are going my little week in Tenerife is giving me holiday envy. I have customers cruising over to Italy and then staying in Venice and Lake Garda, Customer flying to Singapore for a stay then picking up a cruise going to the Far East then over to Australia and round New Zealand finishing with a few night in Sydney before coming home. I have lots of customers doing transatlantic crossing taking in New York, Boston and the Bahamas with a 3 night stay in Miami and visit to Key West. Whilst sending all the tickets on this amazing trips and then calling customers to make sure they are all set I have to admit a tiny little bit of the green eye’d monster kick in.

I’m sure this will all pass though as soon as I am checked in at Newcastle airport and I’m also sure it will be 5 o’clock somewhere and the holiday will begin. Cheers Everyone!
