Carpet Conundrum…..

There are so many new ships launching this year, it’s a really exciting time for those of us in the Cruise Industry. We look forward to the launches when we are invited to stay overnight on these new ships to have a good look at all the facilities, try out the restaurants, and sample the entertainment.
If I have to be brutally honest though, the thing that never ceases to amaze me on these ships is the horrendous carpets!

Who on earth chooses them? I have yet to see a carpet on a ship that I would have in my own home! The colors, the pattens – absolutely hideous! The only plain carpet I have seen on a ship was in the cabins on the Holland America Eurodam, and that was Olive Green in color. It looked like the lounge carpet my parents had in the Seventies!

The only explanation I can think of is that patterned carpet is more forgiving, and hides marks. Does anybody have any suggestions? I would love to hear your thoughts.
