New Dining Venues for Princess

Dining is a big part of cruising for myself and it is always nice to try different venues. Princess Cruises have revealed that while the Caribbean Princess has its multi million pound refit they will be including seven new dining venues which will be redesigned. For Princess this will be the largest food renovation to take place during a refit. The Caribbean Princess is in dry dock at the moment until 6 April. Once the refit is completed the ship will head to Southampton to start its UK summer sailings.  The Caribbean Princess is always very popular and a good size ship for sailings from Southampton holding 3200 passengers.

So what will the new dining venues include?

Top Deck Dining Venues.  Four of the pool deck dining venues will be redesigned and renamed.

The Salty Dog Grill – This replaces the Trident Grill and will offer burgers created by Chef Ernesto Uchimura.  Other foord to include fries and classic hot dogs.  Food will be complimentary about from the Ernesto burger.

Slice- This was previously Pizzeria and will include lots of Neapolitan style pizzas along with deep dish focaccia.

Coffee and Cones – This will be the first in the Princess fleet and will brew speciality coffee drinks on the top deck.  It will also serve soft serve ice cream.

The Mix- This is an updated version of the Blackbeard’s bar serving drinks on top deck.

Planks BBQ and Steamers Seaford –  This is new to the Princess Fleet.  Caribbean Princess will have two casual evening speciality restaurants.  They will both be located in the Café Caribe.  These will be very well suited for families who want to enjoy a special meal but in an informal surrounding.  It will offer buffet style breakfast and lunch and then the evening will have a cover charge as both venues will be waiter service.

Planks BBQ – Will serve loaded ribs, sausages and chicken plus fries etc.

Steamers Seafood – Will serve a selection on seafood including mussels, scallops and prawns etc.

World Fresh Marketplace – This replaces the Horizon Court buffet.  The marketplace will have a new look and layout.  There will be new food options and hand crafted sandwiches.  All food complimentary.

The specialty restaurant Sabatini’s will be renamed Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria and will also have a new look and layout.

The new dining venues on board certainly sound amazing and I would love to try them myself.  It is always nice to experience different dining venues while on board rather than eating in the same place each evening.  The passengers that are due to sail on Caribbean Princess through the summer will I am sure enjoy the new dining venues on board.  I will definitely need to try and experience this for myself.
