Do You Remember The Cruise?

Do you remember the BBC television show that featured singer Jane McDonald and helped launch her television career?

Well, whatever you thought are about that,  she is currently  on our television screens  on Channel 5 presenting a new series about cruising. Have you had a chance to watch it yet?

If you haven’t,  I would recommend that you try to and catch up on the first two programmes – there will be 4 in total.

To be honest I though it may be a bit cheesey!

But I have to say that I have quite enjoyed the first two shows.

The first was about MSC Divina, sailing from Miami –  to be honest I did not think that there was enough coverage of the ship. I have sailed with MSC and there was no mention of the entertainment, great buffets etc – it was really all about how big the ship was and Jane enjoying a drink or 2 at the bar! There was so much more that they should of featured – what about the staircases and the sun decks?

A trick or two has been missed there.

However, this weeks was great. A cruise around the Western Isles of Scotland on an old fishing boat -Formal nights? Cocktail reception? Not a bit of it – it looked as though half a dozen or so friends had got together and hired their own boat for the week!

They were extremely lucky with the week they chose, the sun shone and managed to show these lovely places in all their glory.

I don’t think that type of cruise will suit everyone and I am sure that it won’t suit all pockets, but if you are after something different, then it would be perfect.

The next programme is on a Uniworld river cruise – this should be fun. I have only ever visited a Uniworld ship when I was in Amsterdam, they are over the top – think French Chateau and you will get a picture of the cabins. I can’t wait to see it.
