Is the position of your cabin important to you ? Do you want a cabin next door to friends or family ? Do you want to be close to a lift ? OR Do you just want the best deal…?

With so many Cruise lines offering different price options on cruises, and some just never advising cabin numbers in the first place I just wanted to talk about how important this may be to YOU…

If your cabin number is NOT allocated at the time of booking, and you are just given a MINIMUM grade of cabin GUARANTEE then you could be allocated that grade, or anything higher than that grade.. (This also applies to accepting cabin upgrades on a confirmed cabin number) The thing with this is what YOU think of as an UPGRADE may not be the same as the CRUISE LINE thinks of as an upgrade.

If you book a specific cabin for its location and you don’t want to be moved then this can be stated at time of booking, however with the GUARANTEE cabin option – as NO cabin number has been allocated to your booking by the cruise line then your cabin could be on ANY DECK, and in ANY POSITION and then when your cabin is allocated you are NOT able to change this..

This can be a great deal and I have known people be upgraded to a cabin that should be more than double the original cost they paid, but sometimes this is not what they may want..

I do always cover this in great detail with my customers at the time of booking to make sure they are aware of the cabin allocation procedure for their individual booking, but my general advise is if you want a specific cabin, on a specific cruise BOOK EARLY and have that confirmed when you book and you know that you will be happy..
