The Oldest And Windiest….

Island that is ( Not person ) ! Fuerteventura, in the Canary Islands certainly lived up to its name recently, well the windy part anyway! Every year I take a short 4 night break with my best friend for some much needed quality girl time, and what better way to spend this than in the sunshine, or so we had hoped! We opted for Furteventura this tear, I have been a couple of times before but it was a new destination for my friend who had always fancied visiting the island after seeing photos of the beautiful sand dunes near Corralejo.

June, surely the weather would be good? But no! We seemed to pick that one bad week weather wise, and when your only there for a short amount of time the weather really is paramount as we both love to sunbath! Days were extremely cloudy and windy along with the odd light shower. We did get a little bit of sunshine in the afternoons but it was even to chilly to leave our balcony door open and sit outside early evening, gutted!

Beside the weather we did have a great trip, we stayed all inclusive at the Oasis Village hotel , nothing flashy justa  3* village style hotel and we explored the resort with plenty of shops bars and restaurants on offer , what else is there to do in the cloud except walk and maybe stop of for a cheeky cocktail !

So next year we really need a destination with sun, we have thought about a mini cruise but we are giving up the sun aspect we would really need to fall extremely lucky if it happened to be a warm few days! But its just the risk we take with wherever we choose, all fingers and toes crossed for where ever we choose next year to have sunshine for us!
