Little Trip To Spain!

Normally If I am after a short break away I generally head of on a mini cruise, every year I take at least 1 or 2 mini cruise breaks, normally with P&O and normally over to Bruge where I feel I have visited a million times!

But for a change my friend and I decided to book a few nights in Spain, Benidorm to be precise in the hope of chasing the sun shine!

We flew out form East Midlands with Jet2, this was my first time flying with Jet2 and thought they were a great little airline, I would definitely use them again! After a delay in waiting for our transfer ( Somebody had come through customs and forgotten there suitcase, how do you forget to collect your suitcase?! ) we arrived at our hotel around 10pm. It was just a  little 3* hotel on the outskirts off town, with generally an older Spanish clientele, who were all absolutely lovely and all tried to communicate with us, the odd word here are there!

The hotel was OK, not somewhere I would spend a longer duration at but it served a purpose for our short break, around a 15 minute walk from the beach and central area.

Now onto Benidorm itself, hmmm personally I am not sure the resort is for me! Very busy , very high rise I would have a complete heart attack taking my 1 year old over there with the height of the hotels but again it was a last minute break so again it served a purpose!

Now our plan was to sunbath all day long and have a few cocktails on the evening but to our absolutley horror  ( That may sound extreme! ) out of the 3 days we had we only had 1 day of sunshine! It was the middle of July and we had no sunshine, what a pain!

So, moral to the story I think I will stick to the mini cruise if I am after a short break, I can guarantee great food, great accommodation and entertainment!
