Can My Infant Use The Pool?

This was my recent question to P&O cruises, and many of you may not realise that if your child is yet to be potty trained they can not use the pools onboard, only designated pools or areas. I was hoping once my little one turned 2 I could get him potty trained in time for our cruise but unfortunatley this is not the case ( nothing ever goes to plan with a toddler!) and ive had to head out and buy yet another stash of swim nappies!

So my next question was are there any pools he is going to be able to use onboard? Thankfully P&O have this information readily available which i thought was brilliant, it was quick and easy to find out the answer. So if you are travelling with P&O cruises onboard one of there family friendly ships which are Ventura, Azura, Aurora, Britannia and Oceana, and you are travelling with a non potty trained toddler, infant , baby etc then read on as this information is exactly what you are looking for!

Each ship has dedicated areas your little one is allowed to use, they state that due to public health regulations children that are non potty trained, wearing nappies or swim nappies may only use certain pool areas. and here is the list of locations onboard;

  • Aurora – Children’s Splash pool (Deck 8 Aft) and the Terrace Pool (Deck 8 Aft)
  • Azura – Children’s pools (Aft) and the Coral Pool
  • Britannia – The Reef Adventure Zone and the Lido Pool
  • Oceana – Children’s Pirate paddling pool
  • Ventura – Children’s pool (Aft) and the Beach comber Pool

For parents the above information I found was great, straight away I can pinpoint our ship Britannia and the 2 areas where he is allowed to splash around, perfect!

If you are travelling with another cruise company and have a non-potty trained little one in tow make sure you check before you depart which pools your child is OK to use!
