Big Thumbs Up For Carnival Vista!

I have recently returned from a fantastic cruise onboard the brand new carnival vista, and wow what a  ship! Having never cruised with carnival before I was really excited to test of the product, I’ve cruised with pretty much every other cruise company going so it was going to be interesting to see how carnival scrub up and boy was I impressed!

We flew out to Rome to meet the 4000 passenger vista and transferred to Civitavecchia to board. Once we had checked in we headed straight o our balcony located on deck 7, which was a great size with a sofa bed, plenty of storage which I always look for, us girls have lots of nicks and knacks that need storing away! And the bathroom I found was one of the largest I had ever had. All in all bright and spacious, perfect!

Food onboard was delicious, we ate in the buffet, which had plenty of seating we never once had to wait or hunt for a table as you sometimes experience, and always plenty of choice too.

Best food on the ship had to be guys burger bar,. Honestly the best burger I have ever tasted! Hand made patties, and then you can load it up with whatever you like form the toppings bar, caramelised inions, cheese, mushrooms, salads an array of sauces, the choices are endless!

We  ate in the main dining room Horizons, where you can even expect to find live entertainment whilst you dine such as a piano player or singer, i went for the prawn cocktails, beef tenderloin and sticky toffee pudding all delicious!

There’s also a burrito bar where you can make sure own burritos, and a freshly made pizza bar too which is open 24 hours!

We also went to Ji Ji Japanese restaurant which has a $15 cover charge but really worth it if you like Asian food, how it works is you order a selection of starts, mains, sides for the table so you can all dig in and try a few things out.

My favourite speciality was Fahrenheit 55 steak house, this restaurant is a little more at $35 but for a fillet steak and lobster tail that was to die for and cooked perfectly it is worth it! And the cheesecake, it would have taken me a week to eat it the largest I have ever seen!

Another place I was lucky enough to try out was the seafood shack this opens form 2pm until late evening and served a variety of fresh seafood, prawns, crab, lobster rolls, crab cakes and more, each item is priced individually.

We had a day in Naples, but I decided to stay onboard and take advantage of the quiet ship and activities, I headed to the Cloud 9 Spa in the morning where they have a thalassotherapy pool, thermal suites, dry heat chambers, sauna, steam room and my favourite the heated beds, after a dip in the thalassotherapy pool you can just lie back, enjoy the views over Naples or wherever you may be docked and relax on the heated beds!

There are plenty of sunbeds onboard if you want to relax around one of the onboard pools, the aft pool was my favourite area! If you are a little adventures make sure you try out the waterslides, there are 2 large slides and then a child’s splash area with smaller slides, both the large slides were brilliant fun!

You also have serenity at the forward of the ship which is an adult only area with thick cushioned sunbeds and double beds, as well as 2 Jacuzzis, this really is the perfect area for adults looking to relax in quiet surrounding, and I even managed to get a bed up here on the sea day too!

Sporting activities onboard are endless, you have the skyride which looked amazing! Unfortunately I didn’t get to experience this personally as on the sea day when I planned to have a go it was to windy and wasn’t open so make sure if you fancy a go to head on when the ship is docked I would recommend, and you also need closed in shoes too.

There are high ropes, mini golf, pool tables, table tennis, sports courts the list is endless! So if relaxing around the pool isn’t for you and you like to keep a little active there’s plenty of sporting options onboard!

Now for entertainment, there is literally something for everyone whether you fancy a quiz, salsa dancing in Havana, watching a movie on the big cinema screen around the pool deck, taking in a show in the limelight lounge, watching a comedian , you have the onboard casino which is also where you can smoke if you’re a smoker, red frog brewery where you can taste out the onboard freshly brewed beer in a variety of flavours, there the alchemist cocktail bar where you can sample a ‘weird’ concoction off cocktails some are fantastic some are for the varies taste buds! Again the lists are endless there so much choice on an evening, my favourite evening entertainment onboard was the Rock and Glow party which was held on deck around the pool, there was a dj, the carnival staff were throwing glow sticks around, family’s , friends couples everyone was dancing away and you have the tequila bar or run bar to choose from plenty of cocktails to get you through your evening of dancing on deck whilst sailing across the Mediterranean , perfect!

We disembarked in Crete and I have to say I was sad to leave the ship, I could have easily stayed on for another week I felt there was so much more to offer that I still had not tried
