Thinking Of Manchester

Normally my fortnightly blog would be about a new cruise ship, or something quirky that a customer would have told me about their cruise. But this week my blog due date falls today after the devastating news of the events that took place in the great city of Manchester. I wasn’t expecting this horrific news when I woke this morning and am utterly shocked by what has happened. Being a parent, a friend, a sister my reaction was utter belief. How can anyone do something like this? Especially knowing the majority of the crowd will be youngsters enjoying a night out to see their favourite pop star. I just can’t comprehend the mentality behind it. Their lives snuffed out because of some suicide bomber, or those that did survive go on to remember this for the rest of their lives. Poor Ariana Grande, what a horrible thing for her to experience too. Thinking all those people came to see you and this has happened.  Children shouldn’t have to go through things like this. They see enough on social media and the new’s on television but to experience it first hand is not acceptable. Being a mother of two it worries me what kind of world they are growing up in. When I was younger I never heard of such things and the most important message back then was not to speak to a stranger. Sadly times have changed and our children have bigger things to worry about.

But being the strong British nation we are, we will bounce back, we will help and support one another and try to carry on.We will keep going to concerts, keep visiting our big cities because we can’t let it stop us.  I just wish we could prevent this from happening again. I just wish everyone would live and let live.

My thoughts are with Manchester.
