Southampton Ships are about to get even Larger!

Royal Caribbean are Bringing the very best ships over to Southampton from 2020

I don’t know about you but I love a Royal Caribbean cruise, Having been on the Independence of the Seas The Vision and the Allure clocking up a total of 32 nights so far I feel I am well placed to talk about the experience on Royal’s fleet and the contrast in ships.

My personal favourite so far is the Oasis class as it has Central Park, The Royal Promenade and The Boardwalk. Still my favourite cruise to date.

I am booked on 5 nights on the newly refurbished independence of the seas in may after her multi million pound re-fit.

What I have been missing as so many of you have reported is that all of the largest and newest ships are sailing out of Barcelona or Mia, Fort Lauderdale or Orlando. It was announced last year that the New Quantum and Oasis class ships in production are set for the Asian Far East Markets.

This left us feeling a little left out over here in Blighty.

Will this week brought about a change in direction literally for Royal Caribbean who have announced Anthem of the Seas will then return to Southampton in 2020

Anthem is a Quantum class ship and in my opinion offers something very different to every other cruise ship in the world.

It’s a master class of a culinary journey with exhibition style themed restaurants and everything about the ship is set to wow with a unique Royal Caribbean difference. There is An Alice in Wonderland restaurant with let’s call it special effects.

The live musical and acrobatic displays in the 270 lounge have a unique interchangeable set where the windows of the Panoramic room offer 270 degree view of the oc by day and an ever changing landscape after dark.

We are yet to see where the ship is sailing to we know she will home port from Southampton so we can imagine we will get a feel for her in The Fjords, Baltics, Med and Canaries potentially.

It’s a good time to start thinking about your Royal Caribbean Cruises for 2019 % 2020 as demand is very high in the fleet.

Royal Caribbean have advised the resurgence of the pound post Brexit has prompted the decision to change the business model and they very much look forward to welcoming our UK guests on board in 2020.

Time fly’s so I’ll be saving now as I can appreciate the value in their offering I’m sure she won’t be cheap.

We announced a few months ago that P&O have two new huge ships arriving soon set to be larger than the Britannia Cunard have a new ship joining the fleet as well. It seems we cant get enough of cruising here in the UK but are the big ships of interest to you?

This divides opinion out there on our forums as ever I would love to hear your thoughts on this
