A New Home for Oceana

So, with less than 10 days to go now until we see P&O base one of its ships back in the Emirates for the fist time for a full season.

Lots of Cruise lines choose to sail around the Arabian Gulf and P&O want a slice of it.

They will be initially sailing from Southampton at the beginning of January 2019 with a 20 night re-positioning cruise to Dubai where it will then continue to do 10 night itineraries throughout the season.

As this will be on their Fly-Cruise Programme, we will see departures from a wide range of UK airports and also a promised land option too.

This will be a good inclusive factor for P&O as I found their fly cruise programme a breeze when I used it a couple of years ago.

Along with overnights in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the itinerary includes a transit through the Suez Canal and offers a varied programme of shore activities and excursions, from kayaking through the mangroves forest of Sir Bani Yas and souk shopping in Manama, the capital of Bahrain to relaxing on the unspoilt beaches of Muscat, Oman.

Dubai is Known as the ‘Pearl of the Arabian Gulf and is one of the seven emirates that comprises the United Arab Emirates. It mixes traditional architecture and glittering modern buildings. It’s a place of fascinating contrasts that would be described as the ‘Middle East meets Hong Kong with a little Las Vegas thrown in for style’.

Sailing into formidable city of Dubai you can’t help gaze up at the magnificent Burj Al Arab Hotel, it stands at a height of 321 metres and dominates the Dubai coastline.

Some of the trips planned in Dubai would be to  take a boat trip up Dubai creek, admire the beautiful architecture of the Grand Mosque, boasting the city’s tallest minaret, or barter for souvenirs in the many souks around the city. Don’t miss the Spice Souk and the glittering Gold Souq – crammed full of exquisite jewellery and at prices lower than anywhere else in the world. A shopping Haven!!

If shopping isn’t you thing then perhaps a 4WD experience across the Sands or perhaps a Trip to Atlantis? On arrival at this amazing hotel, begin your unique experience at The Lost Chambers, full of sea creature and ancient ruins. Explore 21 fresh water exhibits highlighting sea life from around the globe, as well as the Ambassador Lagoon, containing 65,000 fish and aquatic species in a 3 million gallon chamber.

You will be surprised at what this amazing area has to offer. Something for everyone it seems!
