Football spending gone mad.

I have been at cruise.co.uk for over a year now and I thought it was about time I talked about something that I am more passionate about than Holidays! Football!!! Dont worry I haven’t run out of useful information and interesting facts about cruising and I will be back next time with a bang.

So I wanted to talk about the crazy money being spent in the premier league and whether these players are worth the Millions of pounds being spent on them. I personally am a manchester united fan and I always remember back in the day. It was 1992 and Alex ferguson was our manager. Coming through the youth system in the same year were Beckham, Scholes, Giggs, the Neville brothers and Nicky butt. Now what a team that was. As they came through the youths we didn’t pay a penny for them. Fast forward 25 years and we have just spent 75 million pounds on Lukaku and another 30 odd million on a defender I have never heard of. Just think how many cruises you could go on with that sort of money. You could almost buy the ship outright. Its not just united that do it all the clubs are at it with Billions of pounds spent every year.

The question I wanted to ask is. Do you think it has gone too far. I know with television rights and sponsors etc the premier league is the richest league in the world. I also Know that the clubs will probably recoup the money the paid in shirt sales alone. The Richest player in the world is £89 Million and he didn’t live up to the price tag. In fact United had one of the worst seasons since the premier league started.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this. Do you think premier league spending is spiralling out of control or do you believe as it is the one of the most watched sports in he world these prices are justified
